Built backwards from the bedside
Pulsonics exists because we spent years looking at what happens when clinical documentation is done badly — and then asked why most of the world has no realistic way to fix it.
From billing records to ward rounds
The team behind Pulsonics began in hospital reimbursement analytics — auditing billing records for the errors that quietly erode a hospital's revenue. By mid-2023 they had reviewed more than seven million records.
Doing that work at scale makes one thing very clear: a large share of billing problems are documentation problems wearing a different hat. If the ward round is captured badly, everything downstream inherits the damage.
In 2020 we started building forward from the bedside instead. And once we were designing for the phone rather than the workstation, a second thing became obvious: the hospitals that most needed a better record were the ones that could never afford a conventional one.
That is the gap Pulsonics is built for — the roughly 80% of the world with no access to an affordable EMR.
Three design rules
Taps are a budget
If a nurse needs three taps at three in the morning, three taps is the budget. Every extra screen is a reason to document later — which means worse.
Affordable is a feature
A system a district hospital cannot buy is not a solution, however good it is. Cost sits alongside usability as a design constraint.
Privacy is structural
Encryption, role-based access and per-patient logging are part of the architecture, not a configuration page someone forgets to switch on.
A small, senior team near Frankfurt
Pulsonics GmbH is based in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe, just north of Frankfurt. We are deliberately small, which means the person who designs a workflow is usually the person who has sat in on the ward round it is meant to support — and the person who answers your email is usually the person who can change the software.
Delivery happens through local partners who know their own health systems far better than we do. That is the part we do not try to do from Germany.
